A Visible Presence That Makes a Difference

The Public Safety Ambassador helps keep UC Irvine and UC Irvine Health communities safe for people, property, and campus resources. This role is all about awareness—serving as an extra set of eyes and ears across campus and health locations.

You stay alert to your surroundings, identify potential concerns, and report them so the right teams can respond quickly. Your presence helps create a safer, more secure environment for everyone.

Duties may include working in the Public Safety Operations Center (PSOC), monitoring 300+ remote cameras, alarm systems, and safety concerns. Or you may assist patients and visitors with check-in, directing them to areas of the hospital where they can receive the services or treatment they need, or to find family members or friends they are there to support.

Regardless of your assignment, you play an integral role in the safety and security of the UCI Health locations.
