Field Study 195 Internship Program


In partnership with the Social Ecology Field Study 195 program, we offer a quarterly internship opportunity that allows students a behind-the-scenes look at police operations. Interns will observe the various units of the police department while assisting police officers and administrative personnel with special projects and daily tasks.

Every intern will have a unique experience due to the dynamic nature of law enforcement. However, some common assignments can include: 

  • Crime analysis
  • Vehicle fleet assistant
  • Logging ‘Lost & Found’ items
  • Assist with police functions
  • Special projects
  • Social media
  • Event planning

Desired Skills

  • Students must be detail oriented and able to write clearly and concisely
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Should be computer literate and able to perform research
  • Competent with using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to handle confidential documents and other sensitive material

All applicants must pass a fingerprint (live scan) background check.
