Explore UC Irvine Police Operations: Quarterly Internship

In partnership with the Social Ecology Field Study 195 program, we offer a quarterly internship opportunity that provides students with a behind-the-scenes look at police operations. Interns will observe the various units within the police department while working alongside police officers and administrative personnel on special projects and daily tasks.

Interns support officers and professional staff with meaningful, real-world work. This can include assisting with special projects, processing court records, helping organize materials and resources, supporting outreach efforts and events, and contributing to day-to-day tasks that keep operations running smoothly. Through this experience, Interns gain exposure to professional standards, teamwork, and problem-solving—while building transferable skills like communication, organization, and attention to detail.

The program helps student explorer careers in public service, understand modern policing in a campus environment, and connect classroom learning to practical, hands-on experience.
