I am a graduate of UCI, with a B.S. in Biological Sciences. I am a former mentor in the Dean of Students Administrative Internship Program. I have been a UCI staff member for 27 years. I am a former a staff member in UCI Student Affairs Division, working as the Marketing Manager for the UCI Bookstore. I began my law enforcement career with the Orange County Sheriff's Department. I am an avid UCI basketball fan!
Anthony Frisbee Lieutenant
I have had the honor to serve as a public servant in California for the past 28 years, with sixteen years within the Law Enforcement profession working for the Orange County Probation Department, Torrance Police Department and UCI Police Department. I started at the UCI Police Department in 2004 and currently oversee the Operation Bureau, including Patrol operations, the Field Training program, and the 9-1-1 Communications Dispatch Center on the UC Irvine Campus in the city of Irvine and the UC Irvine Health Medical Center located in the City of Orange. I am an Anteater to the core and proud of it, graduating with a Master Degree in Criminology, Law and Society. I was also completed a Bachelor Degree in Organizational Management from Chapman. I enjoy being active in community policing endeavors, including participating on the FBI T.A.R.G.E.T. Violence Prevention for Institutions of Higher Education team, UC Irvine & UC Irvine Medical Center Consultation teams, UC Irvine’s Constructive Engagement team, UC Irvine’s S.A.F.E.R. Student Housing Community Outreach task force, and liaison with Greek Life organizations.
Matt Mahoney Sergeant
I started with the University of California, Irvine in April 2017 as a Police Sergeant and my main responsibility is to lead a team of officers to provide quality service to the students, faculty and staff at the University. I graduated from UCI in 1988 with a degree in Economics and a minor in Social Ecology. I received my Masters in Criminal Justice in 2009 from California State University, Long Beach. Prior to working for UCI, I worked with the City of Irvine for 28 years and my final position was Police Commander, where I was responsible for the Criminal Investigation Unit, Communications, Records, Business Desk, User Support and Crime Analysis. I really enjoy being at the UCI Police Department and feel very fortunate to be working for such a service-oriented culture. I enjoy traveling with my family and attending the various sports my two sons are involved in. I look forward to many years serving the community of UCI in the future.
Cuauhtemoc (Temo) Gomex Police Officer
My name is Cuauhtémoc (Temo) Gomex and I have been on the UCI Campus since 2002 when I came on as a freshman. In 2006, I graduated with my B.A. in Psychology and Social Behavior. After college, I began working in the Office of Academic Personnel at UCI where I worked until getting hired with the UCIPD and attending the Orange County Sheriff's Academy (class 218). After the academy, I joined the Field Training Program and have been on patrol ever since. My favorite type of food is Korean food and my favorite football team is the Oakland (soon to be Las Vegas) Raiders!
